User Guide Job Listing Manager v1

Getting Started

DMXReady Job Listing Manager is a great tool for creating and maintaining a job board/positions available section of any ASP-enabled website. Visitors can easily navigate its user-friendly interface, and can view available jobs by location, job type, or even by doing a keyword search. Prospective candidates can email their resume directly from the job ticket, or forward to a friend who might be better qualified.

But the greatest advantage of Job Listing Manager is the ease with which the HR department can update. Through one main admin page accessible through any standard web browser, anyone can easily add, delete, and change job listings or even categories and departments. No need for high-tech web masters -- once installed anyone with basic computer skills can master the system in minutes!

Job Listing Manager includes:

  • Customizable Control Panel
  • Easy-To-Use Admin Page For All Editing
  • Fully Searchable Database
  • Live Preview
  • Instant Updates In Real Time WIth One Mouse Click!

DMXReady Designer's Tip: SAVE YOUR CHANGES OFTEN!

Due to security reasons, Job Listing Manager does not auto backup any changes to your server. Therefore it is recommended that you save your changes often. If you fail to save your changes, not only will your edits not be “published” to your server, you will also lose any changes that you have made and you will have to start again.

Create Job Listings

Add New Divisions and Departments (Categories and Sub-Categories)

  1. Open the Control Panel page through any standard browser: http://www.yourdomain.com/admin/JobListingManager/admin.asp
  2. Click on Manage Job Listings. You will notice a table with the following headers: Division, Department, Date Added, Job ID, Job Title, Send Application To, Activated, Edit, Delete, Preview. Sample Job Listings are already included for you to view and experiment with.
  3. Above the table you will see a yellow box titled "View Items" with the following links: Add Job and View/Edit Jobs Click on Add Job.
  4. In the row called "Select Department", click on the Add/Edit link.
  5. In the text box next to the title "Add New Division", type in the Division name exactly as you would like it to display (capitalized, etc.)
  6. Click on the Next button.
  7. If you want to add departments under the division, type in the Department name and click the Create button. If you do not want to create a Department, simply click the Create button without entering anything in the text box.
  8. To add more departments, select the Division name in the pull-down menu and enter other.
  9. Click the Close Window link when finished adding divisions and departments. (Note: the database updates when the Close Window link is clicked. Until that point, data can be lost. DMXReady recommends you press the Close Window button often when inputting larger projects to ensure that the items are saved in the database.)

Edit and Delete Divisions and Departments

  5. To edit, click on the Edit link on the row of the Division you wish to edit. You can change the name and add an optional description. Repeat the same in "Step Two" to edit any Departments.
  6. To delete, click on the Delete link on the row of the Division you wish to delete. The Division will be removed from the database. Do the same for any departments you wish to delete. (Note: departments will not be automatically deleted when a Division is deleted.)
  7. Click the Close Window link when finished. (Note: the database updates when the Close Window link is clicked. Until that point, data can be lost. DMXReady recommends you press the Close Window button often for larger projects to ensure that the items are saved in the database.)
